Extract GPS information form an Image and populate it into Liberty Create Object properties.
JPEG images, as produced by most modern cameras and phones may contain a great deal of metadata about the image. These include the make and model of camera, focal length, aperture, brightness etc. They may also include GPS information about where the photograph was taken.
If it is present, the GPS information may be extracted and displayed in various formats – and may provide evidence of where (and when) a photograph was taken.
This event action will extract that information and populate it into Liberty Create Object properties.
The event action utilises the piexifjs library, version 1.06 from https://github.com/hMatoba/piexifjs
This particular library was selected as being the most compatible with the Liberty Create infrastructure. It appears to be very stable – even though it is not actively maintained.
